  • V011: Level 3 emergency exit (and entrance).
    • Not the original door. The original door:
      • was made of 16 inch thick blast resistant steel plate
      • had gasket seals against radiation and biological agents
      • was shielded against rfi (radio frequency interference) and emp (electro magnetic pulse)
      • could be operated manually or monitored and operated pneumatically from the equipment readiness center
  • V012: Looking back at the emergency exit (and entrance) door.
  • V013: The structure in the center is the mezzanine (see section below).

  • V014: This area contained the DDA's (Digital Data Amplifiers).
    • Historic photo of the DDA's.
      • There were 4 rows of amplifier cabinets, one row for each antenna face.
      • The cabinets contained over 5,000 individual amplifiers, one for each antenna element.
  • V016: Freight elevator in the mezzanine structure.
    • The raised floor was even with the bottom of the freight elevator door.

  • V022: Stairway 1 provides access to all levels of the MSCB.
    • All the other stairways were removed during salvage operations.
    • Comments from Ves Fulp about using the stairways.

  • V033: Entrance to the BMDOC.
    • The BMDOC provided the major tactical control of the Safeguard system.
    • The raised floor extended to the bottom of the doors.
    • The next door down led to the ERC (Equipment Readiness Center).
    • The data processing system was to the right at the end of the corridor.
  • V034: The commander's console was located in this room just inside the BMDOC.
    • From this point, the commanding general could
      • oversee operations in the BMDOC and the next door AADOC (Army Air Defense Operations Center)
      • observe the active engagement on his console
    • Historic photo showing the commander's console.
      • The area beyond the glass topped partition overlooked the AADOC.
  • V035: Looking toward the front of the BMDOC.

  • V036: PEUT entrance.
    • The door and surrounding structure (white area) were not present when complex was operational.

  • V000: View to the right at the inside end of the tunnel into level 1 of the MSCB.
    • The two baffle like structures descending from the tunnel ceiling (upper left) mark the location of the two blast doors that sealed the tunnel when the complex was "buttoned up" during an attack.
    • Since the outer end of the PEUT was open, the blast doors were normally kept closed.

  • V001: View to the left at the inside end of the tunnel into level 1 of the power plant.
    • Security operations for the entire MSR complex were housed in this corner of the power plant behind the wall in the center of the photo (both levels) and contained:
      • Level 1
        • SOCC (Security operations control center). Historic photo
        • Decontamination shower and contaminated clothing storage.
        • Arms room. Historic photo
        • Alert day room.
      • Level 2
        • Officers' quarters.
        • Alert dormitory.
        • Shower and toilet facilities.
        • Food storage.
        • Dining and day room.
