RSL 1 is the most isolated of the four remote sites.
-
Small wetlands like this are found frequently in this area of North Dakota.

From Chuck Angelo:
The pole like apparatus to the right of the Sprint launch cell
was the AC power source for the missile loader and maintenance trucks.
There is a power bunker under ground with the transformers and breakers.
This pole is just above the vault. The power cord from the maintenance and
missile transporter trucks connected to the gray switch box with a large 4
pin connector. You can just see the connector receptacle on the bottom of
the gray switch box mounted to the side of the pole.
-
The underground electrical bunker also provided power for the Sprint missile
cells and was similar to the MSR launch area EDC's
(Electrical Distribution Centers).
